Online Marketing Tip #1

Press releases not doing much good? Try crafting them as "new media releases." PRWeb is a great distribution service that leverages this concept, and the only one to date that fully takes advantage of the technologies (like "tags")that search engines are looking for when returning search results. Read more here.

Online Marketing Tip #2

If you're a company that publishes articles, whitepapers or other useful content on your website, you'll be happy to know that you have the opportunity to get syndicated by Google News. Sound too good to be true? Just re-work your content in a manner that's evocative, web-readable and newsworthy, and submit it to content publishers that are regularly spidered by the Google News crawler, like AmericanChronicle.com. You can sign up to be a content publisher for free, and if your stuff's good enough, Google News will pick you up.

Online Marketing Tip #3

Getting your content to go viral can be a real trick - a sink-or-swim effort, especially if you're business is in a "boring" industry (to social media-ites, that is.) So to increase the linkability of your content, try spinning it around a relevant or controversial topic. If you're a Lawyer specializing in medical device recall suits, you could frame one of case studies around a political slogan like... "Malpractice Reward? YES WE CAN!" and submit it to highly trafficked news sites like topix.net.

Sneak Peek...We're teaming up with some of the best in the industry to offer paid search to compliment your organic online marketing programs. Watch for updates forthcoming!

Congratulations..

...on getting hip to online marketing!
Yes, this your first edition of the BizDev eLetter. Be sure there will be tons of news, tips and insights to help you grow your online business in the weeks to come. (We're giving away intellectual property like it's going out of style.) But for now, we're bringing you up to speed on the latest and greatest happenings in the world of online marketing, BizDev style. Here's what's new:

The Secret's Out

As many of you already know, one of the secrets to effective online marketing is to invest your time in social media. As the internet continues on it's path towards interactivity and community via blogs, social media and other user generated content, search engines are responding by placing more importance on site popularity and links pointing to your website from high quality, trusted sources in their algorithms. (The process they use to return site results for searches.)

But that's not the secret we're talking about. The secret is that Prayers For Britney, (a "social media experiment" who's publisher was anonymous...until now) is in fact BizDevMarketing. We've had over 11 thousand visitors to the site in one month, with absolutely no use of keyword tags or conventional SEO tactics. That's the power of holistic online and viral marketing using social media.

We've even been covered by E! Online. Read the article here.

(11,000 in a month with no SEO? That's whatwe call "hip" online marketing. If you know someone with a project that could use the same, just send us an email.)

And Now, For Your $500!

Enter Free, Win Your Cash.
Speaking of all this "social" hype, our latest project is a unique concept that harnesses the power of social networking, allowing you to reap it's benefits. We'll be giving away $500 dollars just for belonging to social networks like MySpace, Facebok and LinkedIn. In fact, you don't actually need to belong to social networks to register, but it helps.

Here's how it works:
Log in to enter at www.500dollars.net. Registration is free, easy and takes less than a minute. We'll be contacting 15 finalists asking for the reason why YOU deserve the big five-hundo. Creativity counts over accuracy and it helps it have lots of friends, a vast professional network or email list - because once you're a finalist, all your posse will log in to vote for you. (Voting costs a buck.) The contestant with the most votes wins. You can vote for yourself, vote 100 times, all bets are off. Just another way social media pays... literally. 500dollars.net - "Monetize Your Social Network"

Thanks for reading this far, we appreciate it. Next month's eLetter will be focused specifically on how to leverage Google tools with social media to get the most out of your press releases.
